Quote on cases that are already qualified
Every brief on VisaBid comes from someone who has written down their situation, their timeframe and their budget. You quote on facts, not on a two-line contact form.
Who can join
Two credentials, and nothing else:
- A registered migration agent with a current MARN, or
- An Australian legal practitioner holding an unrestricted practising certificate, who since 22 March 2021 no longer needs OMARA registration to give immigration assistance.
We check the number against the public register before your profile goes live, we ask for your registration certificate and evidence of professional indemnity cover, and we re-check monthly. If your registration lapses your profile is suspended the same day - not as a punishment, but because a lapsed agent giving immigration assistance is committing an offence under section 280 and we are not going to be the reason it happened.
What is different about quoting here
- Structured quotes. Fee mode, GST, itemised disbursements, inclusions, exclusions, payment stages. It takes longer than typing a number, and it is the reason your quote does not lose to someone who left the visa application charge out of theirs.
- The paperwork is generated for you. Accept the engagement and VisaBid drafts the service agreement from your quote - parties, scope, fee basis, disbursements, file handling, the section 38 confirmation. You can add clauses; the required ones are already there.
- Invoices and receipts happen automatically. Itemised before charging, receipted after payment, in the order section 49 requires.
- The paperwork that gets you paid is generated for you. An itemised invoice before each stage and a receipt after it, in the order section 49 requires, with the dates recorded. Clients pay you directly - VisaBid never holds client money and never sits between you and your fee.
- Reviews come only from completed engagements. Nobody can buy a reputation here, which is worth something to those of you who have earned one.
Fees
No lead fees, no pay-per-contact, no subscription to see briefs. VisaBid takes a service fee on professional fees actually paid through the platform. Never on disbursements - that money is the Department's and you never earned it, so taking a cut of it would be indefensible.
- Registered migration agents: 0% of the professional fee, taken at release.
- Legal practitioners: a flat $0 per engagement. A percentage of a solicitor's professional fees raises a fee-sharing question under the Legal Profession Uniform Law that does not arise for a registered migration agent, so we do not create one.
What we will not host
Profiles and quotes are screened before they publish. Guaranteed outcomes, "Government registered", claims to speed up Department processing, and any offer touching false documents are refused outright, with the rule quoted back to you. This is not editorial squeamishness: every one of those is a breach that can cost you your registration.
